Characterization

Nanofluids or Ionanofluids are a novel class of energy storage materials. These can be used in thermal energy storage or electrical energy storage. It is very important to know about the thermophysical and electrochemical properties of nanofluids, which would actually help in choosing appropriate nanofluids for thermal or electrical applications. 

In this work, thermo-physical properties such as isobaric heat capacity and phase change temperature were measured. Furthermore, electrochemical properties like electrical conductivity were measured for newly prepared nanofluids with base fluid as an ionic liquid. Moreover, the rheological study was also conducted to understand fluid behavior and to measure the change in viscosity due to the addition of nano-particles.
